I just bought a COBRA HEAT MAT and It says you can place it on the side or the bottom or the enclosure? Which should I do? Please help!

Just don't stick it to the tank, just leave it under the tank.

If I'm not mistaken, cobra heat mats don't stick to anything, they're not UTH's persay. I would place it in, at the bottom of the tank, because as Tim mentioned, snakes don't break out the Spidey styes and stick themselves to the sides of their enclosures. Place the mat where you think the snake would get optimal use out of it (the bottom). Good luck.

Yes, its not like a zoo med pad, which sticks. Its movable which is a very good thing.:) Mykee, do you mean to put the heat mat in the rubbermaid??

You should put it under the tub. The pads should be sealed pretty well but why risk it? And you don't want a cord sticking out otf the lid anyway, right? :)

Sorry for the double post, but, should I put the heat pad under the hidebox or what?

Here's a basic setup to give you an idea of what to aim for. Replace each piece of furniture with something nice if you want to spruce things up a bit but that's the basic concept you are shooting for. :)

And don't apologize for asking lots of questions. It's better ask than to just assume and make mistakes. Why not just learn from all of OUR mistakes?!?!? :D

If I'm not mistaken, Cobra heat mats are desgned to sit inside of the enclosure. Regardless of that information, I would not recommend it. I would place it underneath like Tim suggested, why take the chance of product malfunction and your family and animals perishing in a fiery, smoking mess of a blaze.
