Ok, I bought a rubbermaid for my newest ball. She's 9 months old and is about 19-20 inches long. The rubbermaid is 22x15x7...that's the largest tub Walmart had---is alright for now?

Yup. I keep at least 4 balls in sweater boxes. Some are larger than yours too.
Cheers,
Trevor

On this topic, are the 23.01 x 16.75 x 6 inch 26.4 L Rubbermaid tubs good for adults? Most likely not for bigger females, but for males they should be fine right?

I may need to change my rack design based on that.

22x15x7 is the size I use for smaller balls that I'm rasing up and some males. 36x18x7 is what I use for my adult females in my rack.

Trevor

I've got a few almost 3000g'ers in #2221's (23x16x6) and they seem to be doing fine. I used to use #2119-87's (34x16x6) and I noticed that the larger space didn't prove effective for their eating response, so all of my adults are now in #2221's and doing great. As long as they can properly thermoregulate, then the enclusore is an adequate size.
Joey, a 9 month old ball that's only 19-20 inches? You may have the first "dwarf ball". Time to breed and make millions.

I only use the 24' bins for adult balls. Mind you, I don't have any SUPER big females at this time though. I find balls don't need or use a ton of space. I also found, like Mykee, that the feeding responses improved drastically when they were moved from the 33" tubs to the 24" tubs.

Anyway, there aren't many rules. Just try to do what you think is best and be willing to change your setup if you find it's not working well. If you build a rack top suit the 33” bins, it will also fit the 24” ones… food for thought.

I found these really cool stackable droor things, that measure 30x17.5x6. Im going to use these as well as the 2221's.
