i have had my crested since it was about a month or so old, and i've had it for about 3 months, for some reason it wont eat baby food, i put it in a small shallow disch, that is buried at ground level for easy access. It's peach baby food, and it wont eat it for some reason.... i change it every other day. *i prolly should start changing it every day* but i put small amounts, a little bit bigger than a quarter, in at a time. any suggestions? once in awhile you will see where his tail dragged across it, but not very. any suggestions???????, i'm using "peach" flavored because i was told it's their favorite. i feed it medium sized crickets *half dozen a week as well*

you can always try another flavour of baby food and see if your crested likes it better. Also, try taking a cricket and sticking it in the baby food so that it can't get out (this works better with mealworms but it's worth a shot). That way when your crested goes to eat the cricket, it will get the taste of the babyfood as well.

My guys actually like appricot the most but also peach and berries and they will even eat some chicken flavored if offered. I started mine out eating baby food from the time they sarted eating. I did it by putting a bit on their nose. Maybe if you hand feed a few times he'll get the taste and start eating it out of the dish. Just dab a bit on the end of his nose or on his lips. My babies licked it off their lips and then ate the rest right off my finger. I love hand feeding them, it's so cute. :)

I used to put the food dish on the ground, but I found when I moved it up higher that they started eating it. I have it so the dish will sit in the crook of some grapvine, make sure the dish will not tip or fall off.
The finger feeding works well too, and check out the recipe that's posted in the Crestie forum. My guys really take to it!

my two younger cresties took awhile to start eating the baby food, but now they love it and always eat it everyday, sometimes preferring babyfood to crickets. apricot and peach are favorites, leftover babyfood should be taken out every morning and discarded.

has anyone tried plain yogurt? a breeder i met at a show says that's all he feeds his cresties. they all appeared very healthy and the 18 month male we purchased from him is very strong and healthy crestie. but i can't get mine to eat yogurt unless i mix it with babyfood.

I use yogurt for my Rhacs and Gehyra vorax as part of their regular diet (even leos and fat-tails will get some as a treat once in a while).

A lot of people will say it's not right since reptiles are lactose intolerant. If that is true, then using 'live bacterial culture' yogurt is safe since the bacteria convert the lactose so it's safe for them to eat. I still haven't really seen anything definite about them being lactose intolerant, but can't dispute it either. I lean towards it being false, since a lot of reptiles will eat pinkies and fuzzies who are 'full' of milk.

All I know is I've used yogurt as a regular food item with the Rhacs for 8 years and never had a problem.

Try peach or strawberry low-fat yogurt, I bet they'll lick it right off the spoon like mine do. :)

try the tips above and if he still doesn't eat it alternate dusting the crickets with cgd for more nutrients. It works. Or you could feed your crickets a high fruit diet.
