I currently have my enclosure sitting in my living room on top of my entertainment center. I recently started to wonder if the sound from the tv might be bothering him. I just got him about 2 weeks ago so I don't have any "abnormal behavior" to reference to. I know read somewhere that alot of bass can stress them out but what about just the tv? Do they need a quiet living environment?
Well how loud do you listen to the TV? How many hours is it on per day?
We use ours quietly and only a couple hours per day. If I had a Ball Python nearby and it continued to feed well, I would probably leave it. But if I watched a lot of TV/played a lot of games, and had it loud I would probably opt for a better location.
That's just me. :D

I don't blast the tv, just at a moderate level since it's only about 7 feet away from the couch. On an average day the tv is on approx 10 hours a day

It might be....... they can't "hear" but they can certainly sense vibration. The tv, even if not blasting, would constantly be moving.
I would move the enclosure.

Well we kept and fed an amazon tree boa in our living room for awhile with no problesm at all, me and my bro would fight in there and watch TV and play gamecube and it didn't bother the snake.

hmmm some more yes and no answers........
I agree with Jessy, move the enclosure. If it's the only place to put it though then try it out. But if you have other optoins I would do that.

I agree, I would also move the enclosure. Even a minor amount of stress is too much in my opinion.
Good luck,

I believe that the quietest part of the house is always preferred. However, some herps are more susceptible to stress then others. Last year I kept a pair of ATB housed in a vavarium in my living room with the TV going almost all the time as well as a golden retriever and a very playful chocolate and a curious cat. Not only did they do well they went to successfully produce a litter of neonates for me.

I keep my television on almost always whenever I'm in my bedroom (I need the slight noise/light :p) and my herps are in there as well. The only compromise I make is that I keep it really quiet.
Ball pythons are super susceptible to going off feed, so if he were to go off feeding because of the tv, then there would be a problem.
However I don't see why you'd need to move it if your ball python continues to eat well for you and shows no real signs of stress or other problems (If it isn't broken, why fix it?), but then again in agreement with everyone above, there is always the 'better safe than sorry' method.
The "quietest" part of the house is prefered, but quiet refers more to visual traffic and vibration than to sound. Lower frequencies can be felt more than higher. If you have a sound system with a big low-end response (large woofers, or a sub-woofer), I'd move it. If you can feel the sound vibration putting your hand on the enclosure, I would move it. Otherwise, if the snake seems to be doing well I wouldn't worry about.

I currently have 2 cages in my room with tv and a boom box, lol. I am a heavy metal junkie so with the subwufers and Zombie, Disturbed ect playing, the room can vibrate. Yet at the same time they feed fine for me. But unfortunatly there is not a whole lot of places to for me to house them. Honestly if I had the space, I'd move my snakes into and entirely different room if I could because these are animals that can respond to vibrations.

Well he ate for the first time tonight, so I guess it doesn't stress him out too much to eat!! I think I got pretty lucky I tried to feed him last monday which would have been his regular feeding day but he didn't eat, then I noticed wednesday that his eyes were clouding over, he shed saturday and ate today!! I had to shake the F/T rat pup quite a bit to get him interested (holding it with tongs of course), and wow he is quick!! I scared the crap out of me!
