I just checked on my male bp (I've had him for 1 and 1/5 years now) who has been in hiding for the last week as he was in shed. He had a perfectly fine shed, came off in one piece and all seemed normal.

When I picked him up I noticed a VEEEERRRYYYYY small spod of blood on the paper towel. Looks like it was less then a drop. I haven't seen this before and he is acting fine and on the move looking for food.

Has anyone else seen this type of thing occur? Could it just be that when he shed (he had a bowel movement at the same time) that he may have injured himself? I cannot see any visable marks or scratches or anything else on him.

If anyone has any idea as to what this may be please let me know as I will take him to the vet as soon as I can.

Any info is appreciated.

Happens sometimes during a shed. Not sure if it comes from the hemipens or what but I often see spots of blood on the shed in that area. Someone here will know exactly what it is. I think I asked this same question two years ago.lol

I can't remember the last time I DIDN'T see blood after a shed. All my balls are fine, it's part of the process I would guess. Don't stress it.

same here, I see that all the time.. I think it has to do with glands or something around the cloacal area.. seems to me somebody at some point had told me that?? Anyways, nothing to worry about unless there's a lot of blood...
