I want to get everyones opinions on what is the best method for keeping crested geckos. Like do you think it is better to have taller tank than a longer tank. What plants do you think are best. What do you mostly use for a base. Just so i can get a general idea of what the majority of people use.

I would say taller is better.

Right now i use fake plants and cork bark with paper towels so i'm not too much help with that.

Taller is better! Don't listen to anyone who says it isn't. People say it doesn't matter. But honestly, many reptiles can be neglected of things they will happily use and still survive. All my cresteds love to be up high. As a base I use papertowl for adults and babies. But I wouldn't hesitate to use a natural substrate for an adult gecko who can hunt without a problem. Babies miss their food a lot and will get mouthfuls of dirt which is not good. Repti- bark will work but I haven't tried it. Any bark substrate that is too big to fit in their mouths is good. Good plants are rubber tree plants, pothos, dracenea, snake plants and any other tropical plant that has strong big leaves or lots of ground cover. I have a list of safe plants in the Natural plant section of the enclosure forums. It is from a ocuple months ago so you will have to dig deep probably.

I would say an average length and height would be better so they have more surface area to utilize while they are active. Just height really confines them. I think it's important they have space away from each other while kept together. A 25 gallon, 12x30x18h works great.
