One of my Females has been refusing food and acting very irritated. She is hissing and very jumpy she has never acted this way before. I recently tried to breed her following Dr. Sewards criteria on his DVD. I caught her and the male hung up on two occasions so I am pretty sure the mating was successful. Is this common behavior after a successful breeding or a sign that the breeding is successful. Thanks for any info.

Id say she is going to be a mommy, and she is defensive because she is prego.

Yep I would say she is gravid also, but maybe she is going in a shed?

If you go back and watch the video again you'll see there is section where Collette talks about agressive behaviour in females. It's also on the charts that came with your set too.
Chances are she is developing follicles and is not gravid yet as it's still a bit early. If I were you I would continue to introduce the male every so often until the end of February.
Cheers,
Trevor
Assuming you just paired them recently, you have ZERO way of knowing she is "preggo" until she ovulates. Also, having caught two breeding attempts does not guarantee anything. I've witnessed two balls breeding on many different occasions for months and nothing. Don't count your eggs before they hatch. Keep pairing them until Feb. or March, stop feeding the female if she does start eating again and hope for the best.
