my dum's eyes are getting cloudy which i read is a sign of a shed coming on. i was just looking to get some general info on the shedding process and how to handle it. i know to spray down hir tank more often and i saw some spray stuff at the pet store, "shedease" or something lik that. do i need to get that or is soaking good enough? how often and how do i go about soaking her? no handling during the shed right? how long does the shed last? thanks a lot

Hey, I take it that this is your first time dealing with a shed ?? Good luck, I wouldn’t waste money on anything from a pet store. Watch the snake. You should pick up a Rubbermaid. (great shedding tool. Then when your snake’s eyes come clear again fill it with a few inches of water at about 26c (80f). Place your boa in there for about an hour let him get good and soaked , then return him too his cage. if he hasn’t shed by the next night repeat the process. this will all but grantee he will have a successful shed. As for handling maybe snakes shouldn’t be handles during shed because they are stressed for not being able too see (while the eyes are cloudy) Its more for your own safety too avoid being bitten. But I have never had a problem with it. in fact mine still feed even in shed. all depends on the snake.

Good luck.

takes my bci 3 days for the eyes to clear and maybe another 4 to 7 days for the shed...
