I went to the petshop today...

Hi, my name's Shawn, I'm a newb, but I've been in love with reptiles since I was 5. Anyway, I went to a petshop today to help convince my mother that corn aren't agressive and makes good pet (and yes, I've done ALOT of research!).. And guess what I see?? A normal corn priced at 160$ CAN!!! That's a total ripoff!! Anyway, when my mother saw the price, her jaw dropped down on the floor, and I tried to explain to her that they are normally alot cheaper, around 30-40$... Anyway, does anyone have similar stories ?? And please, apologizes for my bad english, I usually speak french..

lol its ok, uhhh i dont kno much about corns and such but i bet they are a lot cheaper at a reptile expo

Price is not suprising from a pet store - definately much more reasonable to buy directly from a breeder or through one of the reptile shows. Good luck convincing your parents to let you get one - corns are great snakes,

That priece is pretty mucch bang on compared to what goes on in petstores around here.

Pet stores have to make money. Keep in mind, they are buying the snakes at the same price you can buy the snakes at at a reptile show. No sense going to pet stores at all. Keep your eyes on this forum, there have been a LOT of corns hatching in the last few weeks, so you'll see lots for sale. :)

Invictus: Yeah, I have seen alot of nice corns these days, but 1- I still have to convince my mother, she is not very pleased with the idea of hiding the snakes from the insurance company I guess and 2- Even if the price online for a corn is around 30-40$, with shipping, it would cost the same as buying it from the petshop lol.

One question though, about shipping. Does I have to pick it up at the nearest airport, or it is shipped to my door?

Oh and, Ìnvictus, by the look of your avatar, do you listen to Dimmu Borgir and such?? If yes, then, we have the same music styles lol!

Shipping wouldnt be over 100$ LOL so it would be cheaper buying online. From all that I've heard about buying online, you would need to pick it up in the cargo terminal of the airport.
