i know they're communal, but can you put males together? or are they territorial? i'm getting one from martin, and someone just offered me a male and a female of the same species (Damien Varieagatus), and i don't know what sex the one from martin is going to be.
so... can i put them all together???

They've been known to be cannibalistic too. Personally, I'm not sure if I would risk putting them together all the time. I'd probably just go for short periods if you were interested in breeding, but I have seen them kept in groups before, no particular gender ratios - I have no idea just how successful it was though.

i used to keep them together with no problems. but they can and will eat eachother. just make sure the sizes of the animals are the same and make sure you stay on top of feeding. not alot is known on these animals in captivity even thougfh i always see them on the market so im not sure about males fighting. just keep a close eye on them.

my 2 cents

Or, supposing you had a friend that really liked inverts, and had expressed interest in getting a Damon....you could perhaps send one her way...
Perhaps you'll get one or two HUNDRED baby spiders in return!
mmmwwhhhaaaahhaaahaaa.....

Or take the extra one to the petstore...it would be a REAL hit with the moms....U know, the ones that run from the pretty roseas that their children crowd around to hold, hahahaha. The Damons do appear to have been rapped with the ugly stick...at least compared to the teddybear-like tarantulas!

No offense to anyone, but I found that pretty amusing. How the children flocked to the spider....I wonder if more kids met T's, we could prevent these arachnophobe adults? Kids are just so curious and unafraid...

I will ask one of my friends, he keeps many specimens together in a big tank (I think 8 or 10) along with some millipedes! Nice mix!

I do not know how to sex them, but I am sure my friend will know...

Sexing most amblypigids is pretty easy. Males have really long pedipalps (claws), females are short. :)

Here's a female:

And here's a male:
