Well, after months of my JCP turning away after investigating a rat, never any interest, I tricked him into eating one! It took some work though.

I fed him a single mouse first, and then a little creation next. I created the famous "Raouse" I actually did not know whether or not I could actually do it, but I did! I cut the mouse and stitched it while still frozen so that it would be less messy. I couldn't get a shot as my hands were a little dirty, but here are the aftereffects.

I hope that it gets easier to get him to take a rat! I don't wanna become a tailor!

Thanks!

This is probably one of my favorite snakes, and only comparable to my albino boa (and hopefully one day my GTP...hmmm)

I really really really really really hope that he will eventually take a rat w/no problems. Only time will tell. Now to get this dang female to switch over! I will definitely feed thier babies rats right from the start!

my jcp wont take rats, only mice. ive read on many sites that they have an aversion to rats and normally wont take them.
good luck

I really have no idea. I assume so, look at all of the hair on a mouse or rat. I would guess that the thread would break down fairly well.

but the hairs are made from protein right..so it could possible do harm no? I would deffinetly think it would go through no problem, but does anyone know forsure? Im going to try this rouse with my EXtremely picky bp
