Got an egg question...

Alright, so I have a clutch of 7 eggs that have been doing just fine (and it is Day 42 of incubation) and I have candled all the eggs and see lots of veins, but one got a small window on it last week, and now it is just brown. What could have done that to just that one egg? I could see if it was infertile (but I saw veins), or there was a temperature spike, but wouldn't that affect all the eggs? (Plus, there was no spike that I know of). Do babies just die mid-term sometimes? :confused:

They sure do, despite having optimal incubation environment, some eggs just don't make it. Not your fault, and nothing you could have done to prevent it, it just happens.
