What are the different growth rates of carpet pythons? I want to know how fast each different type grows and to what size on normal. I look online and I cant get the growth rate, just final size.

You can't find that answer because growth rate depends on so many things...
- food size
- meal frequency
- temps
- genetics
It is impossible to answer that question without being so vague that the answer is nearly useless. To say "Coastals grow the fastest" would be true in some cases and not true in others. So why say it?

I have a JCP and I just bought it so this is not from experience but the breeder informed me that it should be somewhere around 5 feet in the first year, that is feeding it once a week, but a good meal.(depending on the girth of the snake).
Hopefully this is of some help.

5 feet in the first year? Are ya sure about that? LOL.
my girl, an irian jaya, who is likely around 1 year, is over 3', maybe 3 1/2', i haven't measured of late. she has been growing a pretty steady 3" per month in the 6 months i have had her, eating at first 2 fuzzies each 10 days, and then, for the past month, 1 small adult each 2 weeks, and kept at 80-85 with a 90-95 hot spot in the days, and down to about 65-75 at night.

my male IJ is 42 inches at one year and that was roughly doubling in length in 6 months. That is about the growth rate that I had expected and seemed reasonable. I wouldn't mind watching this topic and seeing what other people's experiences have been.
Hey Jeff..
My coastal from last year born on the 20th or so of may is now 4 feet 10 inches..... She is the craziest pig ever ...
Just thoug i would share.. theres some pics in my gallery of her eating and adult rat..
Take a look..
Bradley .. a coastal witha crazy apetite and good gradients could come close to that size but 3-4 feet is average and for jungles they usually average around 3 feet or so after a year.. maybe 4 if they are crazy feeders...

Well, seeing as COASTAL'S get to be about 3x the size of the average Jungle, I wouldn't be surprised about it being 5 feet in a year. But the man said Jungles. At least that's what I thought he said.
That is what he said.. I know you already knew that .. i just though I'd share that I had a almost 5 foot 1 yo carpet since it was brought up.. not Jungle though ..
I saw some of your babies at pcpc last show Jeff.. they looked pretty nice! .. I hope feedings are going well for you!

Ok, I was wrong and I must thank Jeff and Dom for correcting me, it was very nice. LOL.
Now I know.
I now know a coastal carpet will grow faster and my jungle will grow slower. I hope the point got a cross to msubigdawg.
Jeff I am a big fan of Jungle carpets and I was wondering if I you could send me a pic of some of your older ones, I hear they are quite the beauties.
Thanx,
Bradley
