i was just wondering, if you're not going to put a corn with another at anytime in the near future it is absolutely necessary to quarantine them?

Quarantine is usually best to do with all new arrivals because it allows you the chance to view the animal for problems. You can monitor and collect fecal samples easier. Also, if there end up being parasites (esp. mites) you won't need to throw all the furnishing away.

It is good husbandry and the responsible thing to do in my opinion. I quarantine all my snakes before they go in the herp room even though they are never housed in the same cage/tank. You should do it only if you want to reduce your chances of them both becoming ill, losing them to an illness and increasing your vet bills. Just imagine if you didn't do it and they both ended up sick (or worse) - how would you feel? That's the way I look at it. :)
My rule is to qurantine everything! Before going to my collection. I mean even the animals that are mine. What I mean by this is that I bring snakes to show/expo to sell. So after I go home with my own snakes I still qurantine them. Why? Well its because you never know what other people have touched and could have transferred to your animals at the show. I usually ask them to wash their hands with the stantizers that I bring to the show, but still it is always a good practice to qurantine them. You know...for the just in case scenario.....
So everything that I bring home, I quantine them in another place. Usually for 3 months, then I put them in my collection again, where the rest of my 'healthy' snakes are~~
I also don't put two snakes together other than breeding. But when they're breeding they have already passed the quantine period and are in my 'healthy' collection already. So no need to worry about parasites transferring to one another.....as much.
I say as much is because even in my 'healthy' collection. They still could have a possiblity of getting parasites/bacteria/whatever else so even during breeding season, I only leave the pair together for a 3-4 days only until the next time (which is usually 1-2 weeks later) for another breeding section....
Hope this helped~~
