I got some fungus on my pair of incubating eggs. They were going flawlessly until today, about 2 and a half weeks. Today I check it and they had significantly browned. I put some athletes foot powder on them and took off all the fungus that I could. Two questions, what should I do now that they have fungus and what can I do to stop it from happening again with future eggs. Thanks.

normally Good eggs dont have fungus, and even if it does, they will be alright anyway.
Athletic powder may be bad at my oppinion when the baby will emerge... he gonna soak/touch in it.
You could look as your vermiculite/substrate isn't damp, but just about humide. that could help.

Thanks for the info. So if a good egg gets fungus it will still turn out Ok? The new PL is doing great. What about ur little albino?

Actually thats not true. I have never. Not even once seen fertile eggs grow mold. NEVER. Most likely they are infertile. Sorry.

I had an infertile one before. It was brown and squishy and never firmed up, these ones were white and firmed up nicely. Would they still be infertile?

Fertile eggs can infact grow mold. You can try applying a small amout Athletes Foot Powder, and / or simply wipe the mold off of the eggs in a precautious fashion. Good luck!

Good eggs often get mold or fungus. Infertile ones can look healthy too. I've had unknowingly infertile ones in my incubator 70+ days that were pure white and quite turgid. The safest way to remove mold or fungus is to dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and gently wipe the egg clean. You can repeat it often if the mold should persist, but once is often enough.
