We have a solid white egg that was laid out in the open and not in the egg box where as all our other eggs are spotted. Does anyone know why this happened?
P.S. just looked at egg again and the top has an indention in it and when you candle it there are a couple red streaks inside.any ideas?

Sometimes an egg or clutch is infertile, so they don't bother with the whole digging/laying routine. I've saved those eggs in the past, but none of them hatched. Somehow the females 'know' the egg is no good, so they don't bother doing it all right.
You could try incubating that egg since it shows some development. It's worth it in this case.

I agree with Hilde. Sometimes they just know their eggs aren't fertile. I haven't had any of those eggs hatch either.
But as Hilde mentioned, incubate it anyways.

I had no idea about this.
My leo laid outside of her nesting box and the eggs were pure white. I have been incubating them for over three weeks and they still look perfect maybe even slightly larger(maybe thats just me thinking they are getting bigger). Could they still be infertile?

I had Solid white eggs that did some vein and at still incubated.
if they aren't good, you will know it after a week.
The last gecko that hatched, was from a solid white but hard egg

well, its starting to get some yellow spots in it and caving in more, i think this one is dead. the ones layed two days before from another gecko were soft when layed but have hardened up and they have spots on them and are light brown to off white in color. thanks for the timely replies.

Andy,
Keep incubating those, sounds like they're fertile and doing fine. As long as they don't mold over, start to smell, or cave in, they're doing fine.
Best of luck :)

My albino het just laid 2 eggs about 10 mins ago...her second clutch..the first clutch was infertile. She was mated with a tangerine albino hopefully I can hatch out some nice babies.
