potential egg problem

hey

this morning i noticed that my one egg was starting to cave in a bit. Its been more than 60 days of great health so i know it is not infertile. But when i got home from school i noticed it was still caved in like that. I know when they are about to hatch it caves in a bit, but i didnt think it would stay like this for the whole day. Is it going to hatch? Is there something wrong with it?

Hey Matt,
How sunken in is it???? If it is just alittle dimpled, That is normal..... Sounds like it is about ready to hatch to me..... Especially being it is 60 days already...... What you can do is candle it to see if there is any movement......... You can candle it without touching the egg....... Just get a little pen light and shine it on one end of the egg....... Hope its alive..... I am pretty sure it is fine...... Sometime neos like to take their sweet arse time coming out.......

i candled it and there seems to be slit in the side of it like she tried to get out but then went back in possibly???

it can take them some hours to get out. If there is a slit then more than likely she will be coming out soon

Relax man...... You got ants in your pants man.....LOL..... It will come out when it is ready....... On its own time, not yours......

I know its hard and waiting sucks.......LOL..... I would give it some more time...... If worse comes to worse, you can always cut the egg open......

Has the egg shape changed at all since yesterday? What did you see when you candled the egg?

No the shape has not changed at all and when i candeled it i saw pink,same as with the one that has already hatched. Its kinda hard to tell what it looks like because the eggs were laid in eco earth so its hard to see into them.

still nothing with the egg. It is starting to smell and the yolk part is starting to leak. What should i do now?

Ehhhh if its starting to smell i think its dead.......dont throw it out though theres a chance still......
