I recently jumped onto the Leo bandwagon. I purchased a beautiful normal from Jeff T on Saturday at the TARAS show. Thanks Jeff!

She was extremely gravid when I got her. My intuition was telling me that she was going to drop last night, so, I put her in her nesting box. (The father was a Hypo Golden I believe)

I came downstairs today to check on her, and low and behold, there was two perfect eggs in the nesting box beside her. :)

I have them in the incubator right now at a temp of 85 degrees, so they should end up being female. :)

I will get pics as soon as I can :) I'm so excited as this is the first reptile to lay eggs for me, and now I get to wait impatiently until the little ones hatch. :)

Congrats, yes i agree 85 might be a bit to high you might want to drop it down to 80 - 83. Thats about good

I incubate between 79-81 to get female. At 85 you've got a 50 / 50 chance for either sex and 88-90, mostly male. Over that and you'll likely get 'hot' females. At any temp there is no 100% guarantee, but this seems to be the norm.

yep 85F is "equal" chance to get both male and female. drop to
79-81F for female

Hey Erin,
Just so you know, you should be preped for more eggs...... All it takes is one breeding for the female to lay eggs for the whole season...... The females retain sperm....... Also now that she laid the eggs, you need to feed her alot of food to keep her weight up and also suppliment with alot of calcium...... She will need it for the next clutch....... Congrats and good luck......

Thanks for the info Gregg, I didn't know that they retained sperm like that! :) I've been feeding her really good to fatten her up, giving her mealies and crickets, both dusted with calcium. :)
