View Full Version : Bites
Has anyone here been bitten by an ETB? any pics? how bad was it?
thanks for any replies, ive just always been curious as to how much it would hurt. ive been hit by an adult BCI but thats about the worst ive recieved and that wasnt exactly painful so........
In 5 years of keeping emeralds I have been bitten only once by an adult and it was a glancing blow that had very little effect. The reason it even happened is because I startled her from sleep. I was bitten by a sud-adult while assisting with a bad shed, again nothing spectacular. I have been bitten multiple time by 21 neos during the first two weeks after birth due to their instinctive reation to possible predation, however they "learn" by association i.e. "Large creature bring food, so large creature good!". :D They, needless to say, don't bite me anymore. None of those bites were worth mentioning. Sorry no blood, gore or massive pain. LOL

lol! thanks for replying. i have always thought their teeth could cause a decent sized puncture wound. i hope to get a breeding pair in the future but thats not why i asked about bites though, i aint worried about being bitten, but just wanted to know the outcome of a serious bite.:D
There are a couple of folks in England, who I know through various forum boards, that keep emeralds. Mat at Arboreals and Giants and Richard Till.
If you really want good bite stories with plenty of blood and pain, chat with some ATB keepers!:D J/K Actually I think England has lots of the proper ATB handling gear as I'm sure there are plenty of suits of armor around! LOL :D

No, Mat is a private keeper/breeder.
