I've been getting clutches from my albino female, the first 2 we're infertile, but the most recent seemed fertile. I found them a couple hours after she layed them and immediately put them in my incubator. The temperature in there is around 81'C, but I don't have anything to figure out the humidity level. There are water driplets on the top and sides... condensation I'm guessing. So I don't know if the humidity is too high, or low, or just right.
Anyways the eggs when I put them in the incubator were slightly dented and I was worried that they wouldn't make it.
Here is what one looks like now... and I would like to know if it has fully collapsed or if it's worth keeping.

Basically to sum up my question... How much is too much collapsing of the egg.

That looks like an infertile egg. It probably didn't die, there was never anything alive in it to start with.
This sometimes happens with young females, or if the male isn't producing viable sperm or copulation isn't occuring during the fertile period.

I just got the same problem... They are from a female laying every
2 week.
They glow Bright red under flashlight.
it's weird they collapsed 4 weeks after lay...
here's the pic.

The female is over a year old, and the male is around 11 months. I saw them mating about 2 months ago, and this is her 3 clutch... the first 2 were singles and the last one was 2.
Should I re-introduce her with the male? It's been almost 2 weeks since she layed last, so she's about to lay again.
Oh and Stockwell what do you mean by the "fertile period," I've never heard of that before... do you mean from February to September?

Definently try reintroducing them again. I have one female here that mated successfully a few months ago, however half of her eggs have been duds for some reason. I re-bred her just the other day to the male successfully and hopefully things'll go in the right track now. Rebreeding them wouldn't hurt.

My breeders stay together for 10 months of the year, unless I note a problem with the male becoming overly aggresive. So far, I've only had to seperate one pair...
As for the eggs, you may now offically join us in the chorus known as "The Breeders Lament"
