Hey all.....I was wondering what different methods everyone here uses to heat their hot rooms and individual enclosures.

I keep my hot room between 80 and 82 degrees. I use belly heat at one end of my enclosures to provide a hot spot for thermoregulation/digestion. I have been thinking about going to bulbs or other heating devices that radiate from the top instead of the belly heat....any suggestions....

Which is better with this ambient temp....belly heat.....top radiating.....both...neither?

It all depends on the species Tad....... Those temps by them selves would be good for gaboons and rhinos...... Maybe with a small low wattage bulb(25w) incase they want to heat up faster...... Like I said it all depends on the species.....

.....I like to give them the option of a hotter spot even if they don't usually use it......I am going to be relocating and I am doing a total revamp on my enclosures and hot room....everybody is getting upgraded into new caging. The species: African and asian naja, Gaboons and rhinos, E&W diamondbacks.....

I figure that 80-82 is a good ambient temp that will allow me to tailor each animals specific heating needs by adding heat elements or positioning enclosures higher or lower in the room.....

Any and all comments and suggestions welcome.....

I would then go with the more natural heat source which would be over head heating......
