My IJCP eggs have been incubating for a month now. I started with five but one died in the first week. WOW did it smell!

The other four seem to be doing well and I candled them all tongiht. All look like this...

Someone in my herp society told me you can see the baby python move inside a candled egg later in development. I thought I did see some movement or maybe I'm just crazy? Is this possible?

Nice photo, and yes you can see them move later in developement, however don't overdue the candling.
All that super intense light might be stressful on the fetus. I often wonder if it's injurious to their eyes.. I have no evidence to suggest that, but best to keep candling to a minimum in the later stages. when hatching is near, the fetus generally fills most of the egg, and it's not uncommon to see nothing through the shell

I agree with Roy. I would try and keep the candling as minimal as possible. In fact I dont even like the idea of candling too much...why bother it right? Cause in the wild they are not in any way disturbed like that anyways. So I only check on them to see they are still doing good or not and remove all the bad ones. Other than that I just leave them there until the day it is suppose to hatch then I start looking.....

But anyway great looking photo and I think that photo gives us a lot of education!!

Great eggs and hope to see the hatchling photos soon!
