Here is a new Acrylic cage that I custom made.
I still need to seal and clear coat the wood base in these pictures.
It measures 36" long X 24" high X 18"deep. The wood base is 6" deep.
Let me know what you think of it?

That's awesome, how much do the materials for that type of cage cost?

Looks like an awsome design if the wood can handle the moisture...what do you plan on sealing with?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the compliments on my cage. I am going to keep this one for a display model at reptile shows I go to, and for my son to keep his cornsnake in at home. I will be sealing the base the same way I seal all my wood cages.
I will be using Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane to seal the wood base inside and outside.

The inside bottom of the base will be sealed with a clear, high build epoxy finish to aid in cleaning, and prevent water damage to the base.

Hi Drew,
I have not bought materials at retail prices lately, but I estimate this cage would cost about $200.00 to $250 for materials.

Thanks
Tom

Hi Crazyboy,

I use a solvent to connect the Acrylic together. It is like a chemical weld for Acrylic.
I also file, sand and polish all exposed edges of the Acrylic.

Take care,
Tom

Hi Derrick,

I have been using Envirotex in all my boa cages for over 5 years now and it still looks new. I am going to keep this one for a display model at reptile shows I go to, and for my son to keep his cornsnake in at home.

Take care,
Tom
