Hi
I have a bunch of leo (30+)
One of my Super Hypo Tangerine seams impacted with
mealworms. I think she ate around 50 that little pig!
my girlfriend was helping me giving them food
and she was eating 15-20 in 2 minutes.
now about 4 days later she is bigger than usual (around
half body to back legs) and I see much more "blue" thru the
white skins. I gave her a 15 minutes warm bath in case and
I will repeat 2 times a day. she is on scott towel in a
sterilite and I left her on a 95-80F bully temp for tonight so if it's stuck, it will diggest. (I hope)
I didn't saw poops from the last 4 days
no regurgitate, about 6 months old, in good shape
normaly very shy and tonight she was stressed but easily
handlable.

any advice exept "take her to a vet" ? (I will call tomorow)
there is probably some "ex-lax" for geckos?

It is a possiblity because of the amount........ Mealworms have what is called chitin in their shells........ Sometimes a leo will not digest it fully......... 50 mealies for any leo seems to be a bit much......... If mealworms are given in smaller amounts there should hardly be any risk of impaction....... I would try dropping alittle mineral oil in your leos mouth and give it a soak in some warm water....... If nothing happens in a day or two, take it to the vet.......

Gregg good info, I would do the exact same thing.

One correction though gregg, which i'm sure is just a typo.

"Leos have what is called chitin in their shells"

I think you ment to say mealies have chitin.

IceFire,
Just take it easy with the feeding......LOL...... I know how great it is to have reptiles that eat like pigs but some will eat to the point of almost busting open....... Just slow it down alittle.....LOL....... Pretty little leo by the way......

yeah I usally give her less, but she really ate 50 in like 5 minutes
I usally give as much they can eat in 5 min
I got 1.3 adult where I left them a bowl (~100) and they control
themself
