nile or savanna

hello, i have a quick question. what would you guys think is better? a savanna or a nile moniter?

Um....alot of factors come into play......such as do you have exp with monitors before? how much room do you have....a nile can easily get to 5-6ft and that is a cage at least 12ft in my opinion cause they need alot of room. Now with a savannah your looking at a cage about 8ft...cause they get around 3-4.

Another big factor is the temperment.......savannahs can be testy at times but not like a good ol' nile...trust me:) I've owned both and the savannah is definately the BEST way to go IMO no matter how much exp.

Dont get a nile please...I cant say i know you because i clearly dont but getting a nile is a HUGE commitment, but then again so is a savannah. If your looking for a lizard that is easily taken out of its enclosure, get a sav...ive seen crazy niles before that dont want you entering there room...they also get huge, and eat a lot...and they need tons of space like burmguy said. A sav needs, at least, an enclosure that is 6x2x2. A nile could need a cage that is atleast 10x3x3, imo. Also do tons of research before getting any of the two, and dont just go out and buy one with no knowledge of the animal your buying.

Keep in mind that Savs CAN be testy and hard to work with......depending on where you get it too.......like i found out I bought a sav at a show(not thinking there is no REAL heat source. He was so calm when i got him...then when i put him into his cage....he flipped out.

Monitors.........no ANY animal is a big responsibilty.....but ecspecially a large lizard....so do your research:)

Look into ackies. If you had to choose between the two, get a sav. Now what do you mean by better?
