I was reading my reptiles magazine (an old one) and saw a crested gecko article and read it and got really interested in them. they seemed pretty simple to take care of but got confused on what it said as a diet. my mom says no live bugs and was wondering what you guys use that is simple and not a big home recipe that takes alot of time and money.

THANX, mike

T Rex has a Crested Gecko diet out that you mix with water and let gel. It is said they can live onthis quite well, personally I use this powder, but I also feed crickets (you could always buy a dozen and have them fed at the end of the week so really no worries about mom) and I also give them baby food (fruit kinds apricot, bananas etc..) all supplemented with Calcium of course.

The T-rex crested gecko diet (as well as gargoyle and leachie diets) is complete, nothing else needs to be added according to the manufacturer. Allen Rapeshy cooked up the recipe for his Rhacs once he had it all figured out. He doesn't feed anything else to his geckos, so looking at the ones he produces would indicate it's a complete diet. I use the diets for my Rhacs, but also offer soft insects, mashed fruit, pollen and a few other goodies that Rhacs eat. If you do use the Crestie food, you won't have to supplement with calcium, but if you offer other food, 'dust' the insects or mix the supplements in with the fruit.
