Love these guys. They get surprisingly big too!! I was happy to see several large adults because they had been pretty scarce the last couple of seasons. They are very, very late to emerge in the spring, and they go into hibernation very early as well.

Rana aurora aurora The Northern Red-legged Frog.

These guys are pretty elusive and when they sit on spatter-docks in 10 foot-deep water, its pretty hard to get a good shot!

These guys are super hard to see unless they move.

Do you find all of these animals on Vancouver Island?

Next time I'm on the island, i'll drop you a line. My wife and I have family out west....

You don't know Elizabeth Anderson do you?

About 10 minutes from my house. In Sidney, just North of Victoria.

Never heard of her. Is she hot? JK!!

There's tons of animals on the Island. Its great!! Two that are super elusive that I've yet to photograph are the Ensatina and the Sharp-tailed snake. That would be waaaay cool to find those two.

Well.....she's my cousin, but ....yes. She's 26, nice and pretty. She kinda looks like patricia arquette I guess. They live 1/2 way between Duncan and Victoria.

I've never been to Sindey, but I went to a wedding north of Victoria off of one of the Sanich roads. Nice area!
