i use vermiculite....paper towel dries out too fast
I use paper towel but find I have to use a few sheets so it stays damp long enough, and spray it a few times a day

I find that one of the best substrates for a humidity box is damp cypress mulch. Sphagnum moss is also good. You want the substrate to be damp but not wet. Grant

Paper towels are the best for me because it is easy to keep clean because you can change it offten........ I put new paper towels in at ever cage cleaning which is 3 times a week....... Paper towels stay humid long enough for me........

I use Sphagnum moss myself no shedding problems at all yet.
I use paper towel too. It's clean. I don't have to spray all that often. The container doesn't have a huge hole, just big enough for them to get through. It is also kept on the cool side. I spray maybe once every two days.

I use vermiculite and all my leos love it. The problem with paper towels is that your geckos cant dig and when the female will try to lay she won't be able to dig and hide her eggs.

vermiculite all the way for me.

Thats why when you have a female that has eggs you put a separate lay box in with whatever substrate you wish to use....... Personaly, I would never put vermiculie in with a leo...... If it was to be ingested the leo will most certainly get impacted due to how vermiculite expands when hydrated........ It is good for incubation but not good in your leos GI tract.......
you clean your leo tanks 3x a day? Good god! I'm all for keeping things clean, but isn't that overkill? I don't think my leo's even poop 3x a day!

Gregg, I thought the same thing before trying vermiculite but it passes very well. I have found some in my leos' poop after they had shed. I've been using vermiculite for over a year now and I have had no problems yet.
