An 03 born in March 2003? Or are you asking what size an 03 could be eating by this march?

If you mean an 03 born last March, should be eating adults almost by now. If you meant what an 03 should be eating by this march, well in either case it really depends on the snake.

No one can really say without some idea of how big the snake is.

I'm assuming you meant next month, and not last year since your sig says you're getting a corn in March. It could be on adult mice when you get it. It should at least be on hoppers. If it's on pinkies now, you can just accelerate it through the sizes and be on hoppers in no time. Feed 2 of a size for a couple feedings to prepare for the next size, and then just move up. They'll surprise you with what they can take down, but make sure not to feed any larger than double the girth of the snake. 1.5 times is even better. Ask the person you're getting it from so you know for sure.

thanks guys. the breeder said that they would be eating 1 to 2 pinkies but that seemed a bit small. ill see when i get it though.

Some of our corn hatchlings from last year (May/June hatch) are feeding on adult mice now and some are on hoppers. A few who were slow to start feeding are still on fuzzies. Those from a September hatch are on fuzzies except some that were non-feeders and were brumated for a couple months - they are taking 2-3 pinks per feeding now after coming out of cooling. Lots of variation - basically we go with a mouse that is 1.5 times the diameter of the snake every 7 days.

Mary - Are you talking about the ones you got from Mark? Because mine are still on a 2 fuzzy/week treatment, and I couldn't even imagine givng them adults yet... do you have a picture of them feeding? I'd like to see the mouse / snake size ratio. :)

Yes Ken - the ghosts and two of the snows and two of the amels from Mark are all taking adults now. These are not huge adult mice but these snakes have been on hoppers for a couple months now and since early Feb they have been cruising earlier and earlier after their feeding day, so I moved them up to adults. I do have clutchmates to these that are still on a hopper per feeding, but the ghosts I got from Mark have huge appetites.

I always sort of hesitate to photograph them when they are feeding - just seems like a time they shouldn't be disturbed by a flash (and I am not competant enough with a camera or lighting to get decent pics without flash!) in the middle of their meal, but I am feeding tonight and may be able to get some photos for you - at least to show the size of the mice in their ziplock bag.

Needless to say I am very happy with the corns I got from Mark. We weren't lucky enough to get any of the stripes I was hoping for but I really like them all - especially the ghosts - lots of variation and great personalities,
