I got my 1.1 pair of JCP about a week ago and the male is quite a bit larger than the female. Occassionally when I hold the male he will wrap TIGHTLY around my hand and fingers nearly cutting off the circulation. I think it feels pretty cool but a couple times now when he did it his head stuck up and began shaking vigorously as he constricted. Is this normal or is he trying to kill and eat my hand? It has been about 4 days since he ate but he did it 2-3 days after eating a small adult mouse?
I dont wanna feed him my hand!
He did that because he was trying to move but couldnt because his skin on your skin wraped tight makes it hard for him to move forward.

I find that 9 times outta 10 when they do the clench tight thing, they usually go into strike mode. The'll be all fine & then its "party time" LOL they will usually not bite the hand that holds them, but will strike at anything else that moves. This is very typical baby carpet behaviour. Learn to read the snakes body language over time & you'll be able to predict their behaviour. Cheers Mark

ya my 2 JCPs do the constricting every once in a while. Never seen the head shake though. They just S up and try to stare me down. I just kick back and wait it out. They get bored quick.
