Thanks to a close friend of mine I just purchased the best looking pair of Irian Jaya's I have ever seen.

Do you think its too late to try to pair up these guys for breeding?

I know it won't hurt to try so we will see! I am just curious what others think...

Nope, its way early. But I'd use your already-cycled male instead of the new male. Check for sperm plugs, and if they're not there, don't use him. No sense getting infertile and wasting the female's resources.

But there's TONS of time left.

just out of curiosity how do you check for sperm plugs? (a couple of quick strokes on the tail? hehe)

Yeah, its a learned technique by applying the right pressure and rolling action at the cloaca, much like hemipenal popping when young. I would just go try it without seeing someone do it first though.

I bet your mean WOULDN'T. ;)

Well, if it's not too late, I guess I'll keep pairing up my IJ's but I've seen NO action whatsoever. I hope they go... :)
