a het is when you breed a albinos with a normal
all your babies will be hets meaning they carry the gene of albinism.
If you breed a albino with a het, then you will have 1 out of 4 babies that will be albinos and out of the remainers, half will be het and the other half will be normals. Since you cannot see the difference, you will call those 50% hets.
Now, if you breed 2 hets together, 1/4 will be albinos, 2/4 will be hets and 1/4 will be a normal, so the 3 that appear normals will be sold as 75% hets.
there are many books available on individual species with chapters devoted to breeding. most pet stores stock a variety of titles or just search the internet for the particular species you are interested in. but yes two albinos or any other morph of the same species can breed. and het simply means that the animal carries the genetics for a particular trait but it is not visible. you have to breed two hets together or a het and an animal showing the same trait in order to reproduce it. hope i shed some light on the subject for you . please do some more research on your own before jumping in head first, it helps reduce stress levels.

Yes, two compatible albinos can breed, and an albino can also breed to a normal. Het means heterozygous, or in english terms 'carries the gene for.' Here is how you get hets:
Albino x Albino = all albinos
Albino x Normal = 100% het for albino
Albino x 100% het for albino = 2/4 albinos, and the other 2/4 het albinos.
100% het x 100% het = 1/4 albinos, 2/4 het albinos and 1/4 normals. Because you can't tell which are het and which are the normals, we name all the offspring 66% het for albino.
100% het x normal = 2/4 het albino, 2/4 normals. Because we can't tell which are the normals, we name them 50% hets.
Hope that helped, and I hope I didn't make any mistakes :).
Ya, you got it right gino, but siretstap had a few mistakes;)

Thats right, since they are only 50% or 66% hets your taking a chance of ending up with a very expensive normal but if it proves to be het, you can produce albinos or whatever it is your trying to produce at a much cheaper cost. It's a risk some people choose to take.
