Yes. Aspen is good for corns of any age, as long as you feed them in a different enclosure. Eating aspen chips can be very dangerous, especially for a young one.

Yes I do. I bring out the feed buckets (Rubbermaid tubs.)
Exactly.
Loose substrate= Fed outside the enclosure ONLY!
And aspen works pretty darn good. I use paper towel and feed in enclosure but I also use aspen once in a blue moon for my adults.

I use aspen for my corn, ball pythons and hognose snake. It's great, especially since corns like to burrow and tunnel sometimes.

It's not worth the risk. Some corns have a literal frenzied feeding response, and even a little bit of aspen being ingested is potentially harmful, depending on the shred. I get stuff that so finely-shredded it would probably pass right through them, and I won't even risk that.
Sapphire - You mentioned the tunneling. This is one of the great things about this species, and why I will be a corn lover my whole life - is there anything they DON'T do??? Burrow, climb, hide, bask out in the open, swim, you name it. And beautiful to look at to boot. What a fantastic species.

I don't think there is. lol, and you forgot the wonderful feeding responses! After she (Mine)is fed she is looking for another one, so I'm going to put her on one rat pup every 5 days. She has GROWN, when we got her she was like 8-10 inches, she is like 3ft now! lol.
I feed in cage. I put newspaper in half the tank, and put her/them on it. I also feed one by one, and stand over and watch them eat to make sure everything goes ok. Might not be able to do that if you have a large collection, But I only have 4. And my hognose eats in another container.
I know colubrids musk, but do hognose's musk? If so I think mine did when I put him in his feed container the other day, when I opened it it STUNK soooo bad. lol
