My '03 corn is in shed right now. Pieces of skin I can see around and about. Anyway, I seen her in her hide and she had opened her mouth about 3 times, is this normal or a respitory issue? She opened her mouth, closed, opened, closed, opened, closed and then kind of jerked backwards back into the hide.
Thanks everyone.
Shane
She may have just been yawning or realigning her her jaw. If she is gaping her mouth then there is definitely cause for concern. Does she have any discharge in or around her mouth/nostrils? Is she making an whistling/hissing/clicking sounds? If everything esle appears normal, just keep tabs on her to see if anything changes.
I would definitely work at getting her setup stable and correct however. Her humidity is too low if she is shedding in pieces.

When they are is shed they yawn lots just before they "start". It helps them loosen up the skin around their lips. Thats where it first starts to peel back afterall. Does it have a large waterbowel for soaking and/or a humid hide? That & what Linds said. Mark

Well she seems to open and close her mouth still. Sometimes opening wide and sometimes not. I didn't see any discharge, I'll pick her up tomorrow. She has a bowl with water in it. It's in one of the corners on the cool side, should I move it to the middle of the enclosure or anything? I'm worried about her health.
Thanks
Shane
