Here's my incubator so far. I have a 5.5 gallon tank and a 2.5 gallon tank. The small one is in the big one. It is filled 1/4th with vermiculite, moistened. The 5.5 gallon is filled with water 1/4th of the way, and so the water surrounding the 2.5 gallon in 1/3rd of the way up. I have a heat pad under, and that brings the temp in the 2.5 gallon to 79. That is with a plexiglass lid with air being able to seep through. There is a lot of condensation on the sides of the tank and on the plexiglass.
1)This leads to one question, what should the humidity be in the incubator, and is it too damp in there right now?
2)Would it be better to use a wood lid to keep in the heat better, and should I have a lid covering the small tank too?
3)Could I use 2 heat pads, or would that burn the heat pads from excessive heat?
4)I have an available canopy with bulb, could I use that too bring the temperature up?
Thanks a lot

I did see it, but I don't have the money to spend on an scale. Here's an image of mine, and I think it's too moist because of the condensation, but is it okay?
