Hi, i was wondering what i would have to do to a rock that i foud outside to be able to put it in a tank with a leo. Would i just have to clean it really good?
i use lots of rocks from outside, just clean them good with soap and i use a reptile cleaning solution (the pink spray stuff) and in all cages i spray prevent-a-mite. if you do all this you shouldn't ever have a problem with outside rocks

Also, make sure you place the rocks so that your gecko cannot dig underneath them and crush themselves. It's happened many times.

if you dont wanna buy the spray what i did was put it in the microwave or oven until it gets really hot and that deff kills any bugs n things..with rocks i wouldnt think its as hard as wood to see ant mites on them...i guess just scrubing them or putting them in steaming water for a while would work to.

you can get it at petsmart, i cant find a pic of the bottle, but you can see the pink liquid in it, and it indicates its a reptile and amphibian cleaning solution on the lable

Ok, thanks. Thats pretty much all I needed to know.
wash off the dirt then pop them in the oven at 325 for a half hour
if anything lives through that you can call it houdini :)
would boiling them in a pot for a while work just as good at killing off anything that would be living on it?

That's what I do, for 25 minutes or so. Never had a problem. You can re-boil them whenever you want to give them a good cleaning.
