View Full Version : I think she likes it
On a whim we bought Hydra one of those magnectic rock caves. She hasn't left it since I put it in there. LOL. By the look on her face in this pic from tonight, I think she likes it.

i almost bought one, but am afraid that when I move the outside part away, the inside part might fall over, so I didn't get one... how do you keep it grounded so it doesnt tip over when you 'open' it?
It never even comes close to tipping....I am not sure which ones you are seeing but they have a fairly solid/wide base...you can stand it up anywhere in the tank without the outside part and it still stands up.
The magnets are strong when used togetehr without the glass between them but with the glass its sticks together but is easy to pull apart and unless I am careless, doesn't bang into the glass when snapped together.

Hummm, I stopped using mine ever since we cut the tail of one of our females with it.
When you take the front part off, make sure there are still no gaps betwen the inner part and the glass, ours had a gap and one of the female's tail got in that gap we didn't notice and when we put the outter part back on, snap the tail cut off and we only realised it later when we saw our female without a tail and found the tail in it, (at first we tought it was an other gecko who took it off).
Siretsap - Thanks for the warning. I actually was worried about that myself because the inside part can definitly move a little when you remove the outside part..... so I just went and cut some tiny strips of velcro on the inside half. It's velcro'd (sp lol) to the inside of the glass so when I take the outside on and off, the inside part doesn't move but I can still remove the inside part for cleaning. :D
