Are all you ***os saying that you want to stare at my snake? :p

She's actually even lighter in person. The pic was taken without flash.

I could sell every snake I own and just keep 10 Womas and be happy. They are THAT cool. I should have got them 10 years ago.

Cheers all! :D

Yness, Womas are primitive pythons from central and the west coast of Australia. They lack the heat pits of most pythons, and are quite terrestrial/fossorial. Genus is Aspidities and species is ramsayi.

Ha ha, too true Simon!

Trev., I've seen some Womas just get absolutely HUGE! But then again, I own some pretty massive Jungles as well. Womas can totally live in a 4x2x1 cage as adults though. No probs.

I'll get some pics of the others, as Womas, I'm slowly finding out, are HIGHLY variable! Kinda like Ball Pythons!

Looks good Jeff, but thats a given as it is a Woma :p Its funny that Ryan suggests pics as I was taking some of my older male just last night. I'll have to check & see if there are any decent ones. I seem to take a lot of pics that end up getting deleted LOL. Mark

:bugout: Staring at that woma made my eyes go funny. The sign of an AMAZING specimen. Congrats Jeff.

In general, how is the woma temperment?

gonesnakee
01-14-04, 03:17 PM
Womas have great temperment, they are like big limp noodles most of the time. I used to have a male that would do the "kingsnake thing" (be all fine then smell something & try to eat me) but they are usually great. The older male I have now is in the top enclosure so he doesn't see me doing my thing in the room & sometimes I'll startle him. When startled he acts all tough & will strike sometimes, but he is more apt to just go into a strike pose & then he shakes/bobs his head up & down at me like an Iguana. Its hilarious when he does this & he will usually calm down right away once he clues in that I'm no threat to him LOL

Good luck getting them into the country (ala Lacey Act). You can also find Yellow Ackies for $75, Jungle Carpets for $60, Bredl's Carpets for $400, and Dumeril's for $50. But you won't be able to get them across the border legally. Well, you could, but trust me, its not easy. And after CITES (both sides) inspections, international shipping, currency exchange finding a trustworthy breeder, etc etc, the cost goes WAY up! Believe me, I've tried. If you can find one Woma breeder that will ship to Canada legally, I will eat my hat!

Cheers all! :D

O.K, Jeff said he would eat his hat.

So technically, I could find a woma with paperwork in Canada, sell it to a friend in the U.S, and he could sell the snake, with paperwork, back to someone in Canada - and you would have to eat your hat.

The trouble might be worth it, I'd like to see that!

LOL Ryan... I'll split the shipping costs with ya, just to see Jeff eat his hat. And don't worry... the woma will be shipped back to my address, safe and sound.... wink wink....
