Chase ate his first pinky with me today!
The lady at the pet store said that the DAY OLD pinky was too big, that he couldn't even fit his mouth around it. She claimed to own four snakes, but judging by her lack of knowledge, I just cannot believe it. And if she does have snakes, I feel bad for em! He had no problems eating that pinky and it was a really cool experience to watch.
Though, I'm going to feel like an *** if Chase regurgitates the pinky, but it's really not all that big. Lol. He was feeding on day old pinkies when he was at South Mountain, so I imagine he'll be fine. The lady tried to convince me to feed him crickets instead! What...an....idiot!

It is HIGHLY unlikely he would regurg a day old pinky, or even a 5 day old pinky because its too big. My hatchlings were on fuzzys by the 5th-7th meal. Just make sure he has his privacy for a couple days and he will do fine :)

Good deal. It will be hard for me to keep my hands off of him, he's such a sweetie... but I gotta do what I gotta do. :)
Yeah I know it is definitly diificult especially with a new snake! It kills me to leave them alone. LOL.
As he starts eating regularly you can pretty much bug em a bit more often. :)

Most hatchlings could take a day old pinky at birth...
there are only a few that can't take down a whole pinky and needs to be fed tails, pinky heads, etc smaller items....and whats even worse is that lady told you to feed crix....that's stupid....
if she does have 4 snakes and feeds them crix....well I have no idea how those poor snakes survived....unless it's not corns that she is talking about....
Good thing that you didn't listen to her. Cause I am sure that every animal that Don sells will eat a pinky. No problem at all~
As long as you don't disturb it too much and it has a warm hiding spot it should do fine with the pinky and no regurgitation should occur~

Well... I ''had'' to peek in his hide, to check on him, just once!! Lol.
Yeah... crickets? Who feeds crickets to a snake? That's just stupid!

day old. Don't worry. Mine was also on smallest pinks available. she quickly moved from smallest to largest pinks and was on fuzzies after 2 months. She should be fine, just do the normal snake thing, no handling, leave her in a nice quiet low traffic place. And maybe ask Don for a pic of the size of food he was feeding her with somthing for size measurement (like a dime). I'm sure he could do it. Don't quote me on that though!
