Thought I would share a few growing up photos of a snow corn and a blizzard. The baby pics were taken when they were about a year old and the adult pics are from this weekend.
The snow had more pink than any of our others as a youngster, but has become quite green with age.
The blizzard is one with the pronounced yellow pigmentation - quite different from the pure white ones, though the camera flash does make the markings show up much more than seeing him in the flesh.

nice looking snow!
but that blizzard is just amazing!!!
Darn!! Should keep as many blizzards as I can....
hopefully one of them will turn out as nice looking as yours!!
Wow, the blizzard has a lot of yellow! How can you be sure he's a blizzard??
I need a male blizzard myself. They're the best in corns. My female is just white and pink.

The blizzard is quite typical of some of those sold as 'lemon peel blizzards' in the US. I think the top breeders have been quite sucessful in reducing the yellow saddles but if it is not selected against it is still quite apparent in some lines.
He was completely white when I bought him with the darker red eyes that blizzards have. The white background color was quite different from the pink tones in snows. The pattern showed only under very strong light. Unfortunately that was before my camera and I have no pictures. The yellow intensified when he got to be more than a year of age. Even now the flash really makes the body pattern show up more. I can see hints of it when I look at him and the yellow throat is quite obvious, but not nearly as much as in the photos.
Your female is a beautiful example of the pure white ones - as you say - blizzards are gorgeous corns.
Nice snakies :) What are the genetics involved in the making of a blizzard corn?

Thanks Linds. In corns there are two basic versions of the anerythristic appearance. Anery A is more common and tenst to produce a bright black and white snake with plenty of yellow on the chin at maturity. Anery B (or charcoal) is less common and snakes that are homozygous for that gene are a softer grey-ish black with less obvious yellow. Simon has examples of both on his web site.
The blizzard is a combination of amelanistic and charcoal (both in homozygous form) where a snow is a combination of amel and anery A. The most desirable lines of blizzards have been selected so that they do not show any of the yellow, but there are still a few around that have it and can be hard to tell from snows. The blizzards do tend to have a whiter ground color between the saddles and darker red eyes.
How is your little corn doing - you will have to post a few more pics of her!

Thanks for the info! LOL my little monster is doing great... has yet to get over how scary I am, but it doesn't deter her from feeding! Rattles her tail at me while she's gobbling down a rat. If any of my boids were that scared they would spit their food out so fast :p
hahaha Corns are greedy! I can literally move them mouse and all and they won't let go for nothing. lol.
That's an awesome snow corn!!!!

Awesome stuff as always! I've actually never seen a blizzard with all that yellow but I think it looks cool. I don't think the yellow makes it look like a snow either, it shows in a different way I think, it's all under the chin and not all over the saddles. Very nice.

I was told that the breeder was in Montreal - don't know any more details on his origin - this guy was about 6-8 months old when I bought him.
