Hi everyone,
Ok... it's come down to decision time... male or female? The breeder of my striped amel sent me a choice of these two beauties. I'm leaning towards the male more, but still not sure! Will they're stripes become more prominent and full bodied as they mature or will they stay broken and halfway down like now?
Here's a pic of the two I have to choose from. Let me know what ya'll think! If it doesn't attach, here's the link too...

I prefer the male as well, maybe you should just get the pair ; )

Oh, I wish I could! But it's taken all of my inner-strength to convince my mother of ONE snake! LOL.
Anyone know about the stripes fading?
FEMALE!!
She looks like her stripes are vanashing!

The stripes will stay the way they are. When snakes get older thier patterns and colors generally become "less attractive". It won't make much of a difference though.
I like the male more too. :) Ask him which one is more tame. or eats better.

Our striped have kept the exact pattern of the stripes but the difference between stripe and the background color has become less noticable with age - even in ones that don't have the fading stripes - so they look less striped as they grow. They do become a very pretty reddish orange with yellow coming in on the throat though. I would choose the female as she is more likely to have a uniform reddish-orange look as an adult - but it really comes down to what you like. Tim's suggestion of the better feeder is a really good idea if you don't care on color.
look forward to seeing pictures of the one you get,

It depends on what you're looking for
I don't know maybe I am looking at it at the breeding side...
for breeding and that you don't have too much stripes then the mael is better. The male can breed with lots of females and get tons of striped. That way you can produce your own stripes in a few years.
If you're not looking into breeding than the female looks a bit better~
Price wise (at least to my price and most other corn snake breeder's price) males tend to be cheaper (or lower) so getting the male would be a better choise....
lol....I guess I am looking at it at too many different ways~
If I was buying either or, I would be picking the male myself. I love how pale his head is.
Good luck on choosing!

I love the pattern on the males head, it looks like some kind of bird in flight, 2 really evil eyes, or bunny ears! lol :)
