i don't think so,lol,i wish i had the kind of space you have!! i don't think there can be a cage that's to big, when you think about it they survive in the wild(lol, think of the wild as a very very big cage)it can make it a bit more difficult to find food,as long as you make sure to drop the food in front of him i don't think you should have a problem, although if you plan to add a female i'd personally add two or three females,if you only have the one female she'll be over-bred,and become very stressed more then likely resulting in a huge weight-loss....just some food for thought, what's your dad making your cage out of?

IMO that tank is way to big. I also thought what bob thought, in how they live out in the wild so the bigger the better. After asking a question to people on thsi site a lot of people told me that its not like that at all. Im not a hundred percent for the leopard geckos but for my savanah i know that i was gonna put him in a 6'x2'x2' but they told me that was to big since he was still a baby. They said he would feel insecure and would get stressed. Dont know why but there probably right. Even if you got 3 femals and had your male you would only need a tank that measured around 3'x1.5'x1' would be good imo.

These animals are not confined to shoeboxes in the wild. There is no such thing as an enclosure that is too large, only one that is too bare. Your animal can feel secure in any size cage, as long as it is crammed full of all sorts of nooks and crannies to hide in. The only problems that can occur with housing small animals in such large cages, is that you may have trouble finding them.

finding food and heat are the only concern i have. but after a while u can see which hides are the leo's favorites and put food dishes near them.
