Right now I use heat pads for the seperate tubs, but it would cost a fortune because you can only use one heat pad per drawer. Right now I can use one heat pad for every two tubs.

I know which kind of rubbermaid you're talking about.... it's sort of 3 rubbermaids stacked on top of eachother that pull out like a drawer... right?

If so, I don't think that heat pads would work. What I would do, is I would take a 50 watt heat bulb or something and just have it shining on an angle towards the drawer. However, if this gets to hot, it might melt it... another bad thing that might happen if that the drawers would just be one solid temperature.. it wouldn't have a hot end and a cool end.

I don't know how it's possible to heat them properly and I'm not even sure if it can be done. It probably can but chances are, it would be way more expensive than buying 3 seperate heat pads.

I used to used stackable rubbermaids and they were super hard to heat. I finally just bought a rack that came with heat tape equipped and rubbermaids.
Heat tape is a good thing. It is generally not a heat hazard if you know how to hook it up properly. Every cage in our home is ran off of low wattage heat tape.

Heat tape or heat rope with a rheostat so that you can control how hot they get. It fairly simple. I use the same three drawer units myself. Funny though, I plan on going to larger seperate tubs so that I can use one heat pad to every two tubs.:D
