What size heatpad for a 20gl tank?

How much area should a heatpad cover on a tank?

i would guess half of it. i dont use heat pads so i dunno but thats what i'd guess.

I have seen posts showing it should cover 1/3 to 1/2 the tank... that is why most like the Human heat pads you can buy at Walmart.. they are WAY cheaper too..

my heat pad is only about 6" x 8" or something like that. but i also use a heat bulb to heat the air. if it was my only heat source, id have a much bigger pad.
