eye problems with jump

hey everyone, ok, i have a female leo named jump. i noticed today when i was holding her that she wouldn't/couldn't open her eyes. i misted her with water and she managed to open one eye. when i looked at this eye, i noticed that her pupil was huge, basically her entire eye was black. when i shone a little pen light close to her eye her pupil did contract (become smaller) but she closed her eye and didn't open it again for about a minute. she did eventually open her other eye off and on for a few seconds at a time, and this eye was the same as the other eye, enlarged pupil. we decided to turn off the heat lamp on that tank (it's a white-light tight beam bulb) and just let them use the uth for heat. what could this eye problem be? oh yeah, and she did lick her eyes a few times but closed them again as soon as she was done. let us know what you think.

I don't know, perhaps something is irritating her eye? A vet would probably know better.

It could be almost anything. Irritation, or an infection. That kind of thing is hard to call on your own, so you'd probably need a vet's help.

ok, well we'll separate her for a few days and see if it cures up, and if not we'll take her to the vet. thnx zoe and youkai!
