Hi everyone I was wondering if young cresties change color as the mature and if so do they become lighter, darker, duller?
Curious because I purchased my first one today(haven't picked it up yet) and its quite bright.
Thanks

Most definitely. You won't find many that resemble their juvenile color when they mature. Most, but not all, become a little duller as they grow. Certain traits, such a spotting, tend to increase with age. I'm not sure about flame patterns though, perhaps someone else can enlighten us both on that.

I've seen dalmatian spots get more bold, but flame patterns tend to stay about the same. My brightest red and orange Cresteds were actually tan as babies...they got their color as they got older. Then at the same time, I've seen some pretty babies turn out fairly drab. I think it all depends on the individual.
