Could you reply by saying what sex you think Leo A is and what sex you think Leo B is?
I placed them together tonight and with in seconds Leo A was taring Leo B apart. I was thought A was male and was told B was female but never really checked.
Thanks,
Trevor
i'd say they're both male and you have them fighting as further evidence unless the one of em bit the other's tail and worked up to the neck.. then thats just mating. but their bulges look male to me

Leo A deffinate male. Why because he has those little vent pores shaped like a wide V.
Leo B from the pics it looks like a female. No vent pores.
When they mate a little "fighting" usually occurs. The male will nip at the tail and the upper back and the neck area or the head. the female will most likly respond with lifting her tail and submit to the male (if she's ready to breed). If she doesn't she will either try to run away or bite back. Just keep a close eye on them to make sure the male isn't doing to much damage to her.
I've also noticed that when i introduce a first time breeding male he's a little more aggressive than a male that has been breed several times. Or my male that i've been using lately the first time he's been introduced (very begging of the season) he will be more aggressive than he would be later in the season.
Sorry had to type really fast cause it's time to go finish scrubbing a tank. Ammonia SUCKS, but it does the job!!!!!! LOL

how did you introduce them??? did you put the male in the females cage or the other way around.
I put the males into the females enclosure. I find less fighting that way.

Trev,....You have a pair.
The first(leo A) is a male , the second a female...
forget the bulges, look at the part the photo almost missed in shadows .
PREANAL PORES...they are raised, and in a V shape on males only
With practice those can be detected as early as a couple weeks after hatching. Most certainly after a month.
Mature males will excrete a hard wax material, from the centre of those pores. They tend to stick out like cylindrical crystals.
Males of this species can be less than gentile.
Males will try to mate females, even out of season. Some are quite rough, and ripped neck skin is quite common, as is broken off tail tips.
I'd separate them for now and reintroduce them in the spring after a cool down period. Scrapping will be less if the female is in season.

It's better to sex them at the 5-8 month mark then at birth or 3 months. People can and will make mistakes. By a breeders stand point i had 3 males and 5 females. HAHA i knew the truth i had 1 male and 7 females and that was having a so called breeder sex them at over a year old. (this was when i first started out).
yeah .... sortof mad though thought i had a pair but there aren't any v shaped pores on either and their both 9 months
