Any suggestions?

I have just found myself with an open 10 gallon tank. I'm looking to put an invert, probably a T or scorpion,in it. I have a GreenBottle Blue already and wanted your suggestions as to what I should get. (I'm just starting out with inverts, so I don't know of many species.)

I have a pink toe, brazillian white knee sling and a mexican fireleg sling. I also have a chilean rose hair and emperor scorpion coming. I love them all. The slings aren't much to look at now, but, am totally excited for them to grow up. A brazillian white knee was recommended to me as a great display animal. They are defensive though, not great for handling. I don't handle mine so that wasn't an issue. They also get rather large, so a 10 gallon would be perfect!

There are hundreds of species of tarantulas and scorpions and so it would take forever to name them all. <a href="http://www.arachnomania.net"> Arachnomania</a> sells tons of different species and also has a photo section. I suggest going to the photo section and looking at all the pictures. If there is one that catches your eye, do a bit of research on that species. If the care sounds like something you can handle, look into finding a breeder who sells that species. If the care sounds like too much, just go back to the photo section and keep on looking!! :)

Keep in mind that you don't ALWAYS have to be getting a new pet ;) Just because you have a spare enclosure, it doesn't mean that you need to get a new pet... enjoy what you have at the moment! (lol, I should be saying this to myself!) But if you really must have a new animal, by all means, go ahead! :D

If you are looking for a tarantula that is not only gorgeous but is also great for handling, go for a chaco golden knee, a mexican red knee or a rio grande gold. You can also get a pink toe, a mexican red rump or a mexican fireleg.. these can be handled but are often quick on their feet or are big hair flickers.

If you are looking for a tarantula that is gorgeous (but doesn't have the flashy colours) and is excellent for handling, go for a chilean rose hair or a pink zebra beauty.

If you are just looking for a display animal that is not for touching, then I would suggest any tarantula that catches your eye :)

I am by no means just getting something to fill a spare tank just because I have it. I have had this tank for about two months and have just thought about filling it. I also just got rid of a couple herps, so I think i'm ready for something new! I have been looking into pink-toes and sun-tigers, because they are the only species that are sold locally that I like. I have never tried buying anything off the internet.Maybe you guys could tell me about your internet purchases and some reputable people on the web.

i love to observe invertebrates. i think they are one of the most interesting creatures. but i really dont like to touch them. just a thing i got about em.

I also ordered my first three T's from Arachnomania. Awesome guy to work with. All of my experiences ordering on the web have been good ones! Although, I have only done it a couple of times for animals. Just make sure to go to someone that is reputible! I made sure that other people were happy first!

for US buyer Glade Herp gets my vote, global, midwest, swift's, the spider shoppe, scorpion emporium lol and tons more. the ones I named have been around a while.

The one person I fully trust in the US is John Hoke. You will pay a little more then the others but you get superb quality and service. He has the best selection on the net. John is a VERY reliable and HONEST person. I believe that if you are looking to buy one animal only, it will not matter if you pay 10$ more, what matters is the animal you will get, go with John a 100%!

Swift has a flawless reputation also but I never talked or dealt with him.

There are probably other reputable dealers, the problem is often not the dealers themselves but the supplier they get their spiders from that is why I only fully trust the two mentionned ones (John and Kelly)...

I imported once from Glades and I was not fully satisfied even if I only heard good reviews on them, probably only got unlucky this particular time...

As far as Canada goes... no comments lol

I just have to mention, I bought several slings from Tarcan, all arrived perfectly packed and very healthy. Most of all, Martin has been extremely helpful with answering all my questions and giving honest advice regarding selection and breeding.
I can't thank him enough for all his help!
