View Full Version : IJCP question.
I just now started reading about IJCP's and im in the market for one but i have a few questions first.
The one i want is: http://www.stranglethecat.com/Uploads/4/iranjayacarpet1_copy.gif
I was wondering is this a nice looking IJCP or would this be considered a normal. Im not to sure on the colors of these snakes but i know with JCP they have dull yellow and high yellow so im kinda looking for a nice looking snake.
It looks good to me but i want something that would make nice babies if i decided to breed later on down the road.
Thanks, hello

i dont think there are any ''morphs'' of IJ's..maybe a couple but that one is a normal, some of them are quite red when young, it looks great to me!
Thanks for the reply. I read most are very red when young and then as they grow they get there real color in but im wondering if there is anyway to know if that snake will retain nice coloration.
Im not looking for something crazy in color but i just dont want something very dull looking. I will ask for pics of the parents i guess!

Oh, there's morphs of variegata. Its just not publicly known, and no, am not at liberty to say.

yeah just ask for pics of the parents. that one looks pretty nice anyways. make sure it is eating well and everything before you make any decisions

There are albino variegata, but from Australia. There should be some albino hatchlings hatching out anyday now, or maybe they have already hatched?

mark... are u the one with the mysterious albino variegata? :p
I think there are hypo ones, too.
Anyway, no you can't tell just be looking at a baby... you need to see the parents to get a good idea.

please elaborate!!:D
I know there are a couple of neat looking variegata overseas like Jeff said. But I guess the rule is to not let anyone know about them. LOL!
We also have what some folks are calling a hypo IJ. But we won't call it anything until we hatch some babies from him.
We also have a trio of some babies that look very similar to the Jaguar Coastals but again, for now we call them "funny looking" IJs until we can see what they produce.
You guys have seen some of them here before.
I'll try to post pics of them soon.
So don't fret, there will be some interesting IJs hatching in the coming years regardless of whether the western hemisphere ever gets the other funny ones in Europe.

This is an approx 8-9 yr old. male that many think is a hypo.
When he is out in real sunlight, any hints of dark color become purplish instead of dark brown or black. He will hopefully be breeding three females this season.

Not the best pic of her but this is one of the female "jagish" looking IJs we are now raising. They are only about 6 months old and they have some incredible golden color already. And it'll be interesting to see how they grow up as the lateral areas where the chestnut color usually comes in between the banding is greatly reduced.
Hope ya like.
