I realize this is the leopard catagory... but I figured this might apply to leo's too.

recently I came across a recipe for AFT's and I was wondering if it would be benifical to feed to my AFT's.

recipe found at PetPlace.com (http://petplace.compuserve.com/Articles/artShow.asp?artID=2028)
"Fat-tails may also lap a vitamin fortified honey-pureed fruit mixture. To make this mix 1/3 water, 1/3 pureed apricot (or papaya) baby food, 1/3 honey, add a little powdered calcium-D3 additive and mix well. Refrigerate what is not immediately used."

Honey often contains botulism spores and it is not a good idea to feed it to reptiles.

It's okay to offer them fruit baby food in small amounts, but they will not eat much so it is pointless to give them a dish of it. I usually use a spoon and let them lick it a few times, until they don't want any more:D

I've read that, too (with the exception of the honey). Tonight I mixed some calc and vits with a little papaya baby food, and let them lick it off a spoon, and they seemed to like it.

Kinda made funny faces at the beginning, but they each took a couple of licks and then seemed to lose interest. Maybe they'll get used to it, but obviously I won't make it a staple in their diets ;)
